Carter’s Baptism

We had a wonderful weekend with our family and friends celebrating our adorable son, Carter, and his baptism in the Catholic Church! Steve’s parents and niece, Rachel, arrived Friday morning. My parents and grandparents arrived Saturday afternoon. Maggie and Elliott were able to join us for the fun on Sunday. We were so happy to have them here and wish all of our family and friends could have been here to celebrate with us!

The baptism ceremony took place at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon. Everyone came over to our house for lunch and cake prior to the ceremony. My family watched Abbie in the morning so that Carter could take a good nap and I could get the house and food ready for lunch. We enjoyed a light lunch of turkey and ham sandwiches, fruit and chips. Once we were done eating, it was time for cake! The cake tasted just as good as it looked! We sat Carter next to his cake to take a picture and he stuck his hand right in! He tried to eat it off his hand, but I caught him just in time! I think he was just dying to get a bite of cake. He will have to wait another six months until his first birthday! Maybe I will finally have a child who likes to eat cake! Here are a few picture of the house and food.IMG_4063nIMG_4064nIMG_4066nIMG_4071nIMG_4098nIMG_4099nIMG_4101n

Here is Carter digging in to his cake with a huge smile on his face!

We arrived at the church a little after 2:00. As we were waiting for a mass to finish, we were able to take some pictures on Carter’s big day. Carter’s two loving godparents are Mimi and Pop Pop. He is a blessed little boy to have them both in his life!IMG_4106n

Around 2:30 as we were preparing for the baptism ceremony, Carte quietly fell asleep on my shoulder. He was so tired from his big day and it was right during nap time. He stayed asleep for the first half of the ceremony. He woke up just as it was time for him to be baptized! He was as happy as could be and smiling away! He stayed awake for the rest of the ceremony and didn’t make a peep! Abbie, on the other hand, could not understand while all of her family was standing at the front of the church but her! She started to cry, so we had to bring her up with us. After the ceremony, we took some more pictures and headed home!IMG_4136n
