Carter is 3 Months!

Carter is 3 months old today! I can't believe how much he has grown over the past 3 months. It seems like just a few days ago that we brought him home from the hospital!

Here are some of the current things that Carter is doing.
  • Carter still loves to be held and cuddled. He is usually easily calmed down, unless he is hungry or tired.
  • He is not a very big eater. He will not eat unless he is very hungry, and then will only eat just enough so that he is no longer hungry. I was so worried about his eating habits that I took him to the doctor last week. He was up to 12.5 pounds and still in the 50% for weight so the doctor said not to be concerned. Just this past day his eating has increased, perhaps he is going through a growth spurt. He is currently going 3 and a half to 4 hours in between feedings during the day. At night, we usually feed him around 7:00 and put him to bed. Then he wakes up around 11:00 and again around 4:30 to eat. Then he sleeps until about 8:00 the next morning.
  • Carter is a very good sleeper at night. He only wakes up to eat and then goes right back to sleep. We still swaddle him in his Miracle Blanket which helps to control his crazy arm movements. He is getting to be a better sleeper during the day and has just recently fallen into his own routine. He usually naps around 9:30 in the morning for 45 minutes to an hour. Then he naps again around 12:30 and has been sleeping for 2 to 3 hours. Then he takes a quick nap in the late afternoon around 5:00. I hope his napping continues to improve!
  • He is rolling over from his tummy to his back, mainly to avoid tummy time. He has now rolled over 4 times. He is close to rolling over from his back to his tummy.
  • He still loves to watch Abbie. He doesn't really find Steve or I entertaining when we try to play with him. However, the moment Abbie comes in to view he follows her every move. He even smiles when she gives him kisses. He loves his big sister!
  • Carter loves his bath. HE will immediately stop crying the moment he gets in the tub!
  • He likes to suck on his fist and is close to finding his thumb. I have given up on the pacifier as he is just not interested.
  • Carter weighs about 13 pounds and his still wearing size 1 diapers. However, as soon as these run out he is moving up to size 2! It seems like just yesterday he was in his little newborn diapers.

I am so looking forward to the next 3 months! I can't wait for him to be able to sit in his Bumbo, roll over on purpose, take his first plane trip and play with his toys. My little boy is growing up so fast! We love you Carter!
