Happy Easter!

We went to Mimi and Bebe’s for Easter this year. We packed up all the kids, the dog, the Easter baskets, the eggs, extra clothes, … As you can imagine the car was pretty full! We drove down and arrived around noon. Abbie and Carter were very excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought them and to hunt for Easter eggs!

First we attempted to get a picture of them in their nice Easter clothes. Abbie and Elisabeth have matching dresses. Abbie literally squealed with excitement when she saw them! She loves matching her little sister. It is practically impossible to get a good picture when there is a fidgety three year old and a newborn involved!

Once the picture fiasco was over, it was time to check out their Easter baskets! Abbie loved her Hello Kitty and book and Carter loved his new puppy and dug right into the candy. Elisabeth didn’t participate, but I am sure one day she will loved all her new toys! (Can I just tell you how surreal it was on Saturday night to be putting together three Easter baskets?!)

Next it was time for the big egg hunt! They were very excited! I realized a little too late that I need to get Carter a new hunting basket. It might have been okay when he was younger, but now it is not fair that his is smaller than Abbie’s! They both loved running around the yard and grabbing the eggs. It is amazing how fast they collected them all! Too bad they aren’t that efficient at picking up their toys!

Elisabeth spent most of the day being held and getting attention. She missed out on most of the fun on her first Easter, but maybe next Easter she will be toddling her way through the egg hunt as well!

After all of the Easter excitement was finished, all of us (except for Elisabeth and Stephen who stayed behind for naps) went to lunch and to the Kemah Boardwalk! The kids had so much fun on the little rides. They were very similar to what they are used to when we go to the boardwalk in New Jersey. After a train ride and some ice cream, it was time to head back to Mimi and Bebe’s for some dinner and baths before heading home. It was a wonderful Easter for all of us and even more special to be sharing it with Elisabeth!
