Abbie The Soccer Player

Abbie is trying a new sport this Spring…soccer!  She has never really played a group sport before.  I thought it was time for her to try something new and signed her up for a Spring session at the Y.  It is very recreational and non-competitive.  She is on the Kansas City team.  Hopefully she will just go out there and have some fun!
Her first practice was tonight.  We all had to be out at the soccer fields from 5:30-6:30.  That is not the best time for us.  Usually by that time everyone is tired and hungry.  It was not easy getting us all there but we made it.  Thankfully, Stephen came and joined us on his way home from work.
Abbie has a little friend, Katie, who she knows from swimming on her team.  It was nice for her to know someone right away.  There are 12 kids on her team, and only 4 of them are girls.  She had a great time warming up, kicking the ball with Katie and then doing some drills.  She even tried being goalie for a bit!  I  think she had a lot of fun and is looking forward to her first game!
Meanwhile, Carter and Elisabeth watched from the sidelines.  Carter wore his cute new baseball hat and kicked a soccer ball around with Daddy.  Elisabeth slept in her carseat the whole time.  I can’t imagine how hectic life will be when we are running around to practices/lessons for three kids!
Since it was so late when practice was over we stopped and picked up Chick-Fil-A on the way home.  I think Abbie and Carter both had a lot of fun at her first soccer practice!
