We arrived around lunch time which meant everyone was hungry. We decided it would be easiest to eat before getting in the pool. Of course the kids wanted to jump in the pool right away so it was not easy convincing them to eat their lunch first. The various love bugs, bees, etc. flying around us did not help. The kids were all terrified of the bugs! The big kids finally ate enough to pass as a meal, and then we lathered them in sunscreen and sent them off to the pool. They all played really well together the rest of the time!
That just left the littles, Elisabeth and Andrew, to tend to. Elisabeth had a bottle and tried out the pool for a second. She was NOT a fan! I was kind of surprised since she loves getting baths. In her defense, the water was actually freezing! It happened to be the first day in months that it was somewhat overcast and not a million degrees. After her traumatic pool experience, we sat in the shade for a while and then she feel asleep in her stroller. She and Andrew looked so cute sleeping next to each other in the shade! They were such good babies at the pool and just went along with all the craziness.
After a couple of hours, we packed everything up, got everyone changed into their dry clothes, and then went home exhausted from our fun and crazy day. I can only imagine what it will be like next year with two little kids toddling around!
