It is the first day of June and summer has started in the Schmitt home. It is nice to have a more relaxed schedule. The kids have started a gymnastics class on Monday afternoons and have a few VBS/camps throughout the summer. Other than those things, we are trying to stay home as much as possible. If it was just Abbie and Carter, we would probably be spending a ton of time with our friends or our mornings at the pool. However, with Elisabeth here this summer, we need to stay home more. I am working on establishing good sleeping habits with her, which means trying to have her nap in her bassinet at home as much as possible. So far, she is doing a great job of falling into a good sleep pattern. However, it means things can be a little dull for Abbie and Carter. They have been doing a decent job of staying busy by coloring, working on workbooks, playing and watching TV. They really do enjoy each other’s company and have fun playing with each other, except for the occasional fight now and then!
Today Elisabeth was working on tummy time in her room while Abbie and Carter played around upstairs. Elisabeth still really likes tummy time! I think it is because she is better able to see what all is going on around her. She loves to watch Abbie and Carter as they are playing. Abbie and Carter kept popping in to her room to say hi. It was a pretty typical afternoon and here are a few pictures!

Eventually the party moved to Carter’s bed. Three little monkeys jumping on the bed!

I instantly thought back to this day when Carter and Abbie played in Abbie’s bed in the summer of 2009! Ah memories.
