Our fun afternoon started with Cookies with Santa. We met the Bynums there and had the best time! It was our first year to go and I am so glad we did. The kids talked to Santa and Mrs. Claus, decorated gingerbread men, had cookies and milk, decorated ornaments, made hand/foot-print plates, took silly pictures, and even more. They really had such a fun time!
Abbie and Carter were so cute talking to Santa and Mrs. Claus. They were just so excited! Abbie told Santa what she wanted for Christmas (Bouncy Puppy, Doctor Mommy and a Minnie Kitchen), and I am pretty sure Carter said the exact same things when it was his turn. Silly boy! It was so cute to see how excited the kids were to be talking to Mr. and Mrs. Claus! Elisabeth wasn’t quite sure what to think about Santa, but did sit on his lap for a little while and took a picture. She wasn’t smiling, but she wasn’t crying her first time to meet Santa.
Abbie and Carter had a great time. Sadly, I didn’t get any pictures with Michael, Julia or Andrew on my camera.
After our fun time at Cookies with Santa, we decided to walk over to the Festival of Lights going on down the waterway. It was combined with an international festival and there were all sorts of booths and performers. Abbie loved watching Irish dancers, and they both ate sno-cones. This biggest hits were snow and bumper boats! The kids had a blast at both. It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon and just a great time.
Sledding was not a hit with Abbie. She did it once and was done. Carter loved it and did it twice. Unfortunately for him, he is so light that he kept bouncing right off the sled. He still had a great time though!
Abbie liked the idea of snow but did not like how cold and wet it was. I am thinking she is more of a” sit inside and drink hot chocolate while admiring the snow” kind of girl, like her mom. Carter, of course, loved every minute in the snow and would have stayed and played in it forever!
Abbie and Carter both loved the bumper boats!
It was such a fun afternoon. We all came home, ate dinner, and then happily snuggled up in bed.
