We stopped at the Arboretum on our way out of town. Of course it was the first cold weekend of the Fall. It was in the 50s or 60s and windy. Not ideal for pictures with little kids. At least it was completely overcast, which is a huge bonus when taking pictures with my 3 light-eyed children. Poor Carter’s eyes are so sensitive, just like mine. We squint even when it is cloudy out!
Abbie did a great job of taking pictures. Thank you Abbie! Carter did not want to take pictures but would at least flash me a fake smile just to be done. Elisabeth, on the other hand, was just not into pictures. She was just starting to get the hang of sitting but not able to sit on the hard surface without someone spotting her. She was way more interested in all of the new surroundings to pay attention to the camera. And she is not a very smiley baby. She smiles and laughs at things she thinks are funny, but is generally more observant and thoughtful in her expression. Abbie did her craziest antics to try and get Elisabeth to smile. We did manage to get a few cute ones, despite the cold, lack of morning nap, and lunch time.
It was a lot of work, but we all had fun running around the pumpkins and eating lunch at the Arboretum before we headed home. It was a great way to end our fun trip!
