Today we left for our annual trip to Omaha! We were so excited to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Brunner, Aunt Bev and Uncle Gene, and Joan, CJ and Kate.
Steve dropped us off at the airport around 11:00. Somehow Mimi and I managed to get two small children, three large bags, two strollers, two kid backpacks, and four carry-ons through check-in and security. We were ready to rest by the time we finally got to our gate!
We had a little while before our plane left, so we all ate our lunch and watched the planes at the airport. Abbie and Carter had a great time watching the planes taking-off and landing, as well as watching the luggage go on and off airplanes. One of the airport workers even stopped by and gave them wings!
Once it was time for our plane to depart, we all boarded and settled in for our two hour flight. Carter sat next to me and Abbie and Mimi sat in the row behind us. The kids were both very good on the plane. They ate snacks, watched movies and colored. By the time we knew it, we were landing in Omaha!
Aunt Bev was there to pick us up and we all headed to her house. Carter quickly fell asleep in the car and snuck in a little nap before we got home. The rest of the day we spent visiting Great Grandma and Grandpa, unpacking and going to bed. The kids slept together in one room, with Abbie in a bed and Carter on a toddler mattress on the floor next to her. We were all ready for bed that night after our big day!
