Afternoon with Emma

Abbie’s best friend from school, Emma, came over to play this afternoon after summer school. Emma and Abbie were in a class together last year and will hopefully be in a class together next year, along with having ballet together! Emma’s mom, Allison, is the one who told me about their summer school at a different church. So now Abbie and Emma are still in school together over the summer!

I picked all three kids up from school this afternoon and brought them home to have some play time. They had snacks and watched a show before heading upstairs to play.

Then they came back downstairs to make cupcakes. They were all great helpers. We only had one little mishap when Carter got overzealous with cracking the egg. Instead of waiting for me to help him, he just grabbed one in his little hand and squashed it until it broke before dropping it in. By some miracle, none of the shell ended up in the batter so a crises was averted. Once the cupcakes were cooled, they all decorated one with icing. Abbie chose pink, Emma chose purple and Carter chose blue. No surprises there! Once the sprinkles were in place, the cupcakes were completely devoured. Seriously, do kids not eat at school?!? These kids ate like it was there last meal all afternoon!

Allison picked Emma up around 4:30. We all had a fun afternoon!
