That would be a "no"! I signed Abbie up for a short, 5-week ballet class on Friday mornings through our Parks and Rec Department. I thought it would give us something to do and expose her to a new activity. When we signed up we were told ballet shoes were required. One day at Target, we came across pink and black ballet shoes. I let her pick which ones she wanted, and of course she chose the black.
Our first day of class was last Friday. Of course we were running late. Getting the three of us out the door and somewhere by 9 is difficult these days! As we walked into the class already in progress, I noticed all of the other little girls had on pink leotards, tights and ballet shoes! There was Abbie in her white shirt, black leggings and black ballet shoes! It was easy to spot which one didn't belong! She did okay the first class, but preferred to run around the room and look in the mirrors than follow any of the directions of the teacher.
This morning was our second class and she did considerably better. She actually did a few of the things the teacher asked, but still preferred to run back and forth across the room when they were supposed to be pointing their toes and walking! Oh well! She still had a fun time and got the all important sticker at the end of class for a job well done.
I think ballet might have to wait a few more years. In the meantime, we have a trial gymnastics class set up for next Saturday!

Notice the other girls all in pink!
Running across the room while everyone else is pointing and walking.
What is this?!? Is she actually in a ballet position?!?
That's more like it. Classic Abbie!
Her favorite activity is running and jumping over the bunny. They are supposed to leap but Abbie is lucky if she gets both feet off the ground at the same time!

She had fun though! That's all that matters.
