Carter is 4 Months!

The time is really flying by...Carter is now 4 months old! He is such a sweet baby. He is still very serious, and often has a look of concentration on his face. He is smiling more now when I play with him and tickle him, which I adore! Stay tuned for his latest stats after his check-up on Monday!

• Here are some of the current things that Carter is doing.
  Although he is very serious, Carter is also very laid back. He rarely cries during the day now. He only cries when he is very hungry, which isn't often.
• He is content to sit in his bouncy chair or lay on his playmat and watch his sister run around. He just loves to watch Abbie. He follows her all around the room, even craning his neck to see her. I think he is eventually going to roll from his back to his tummy in his attempts to see her when she is behind him. (Sneaky Mommy even has Abbie stand in that spot on purpose in her attempts to get him to roll over! I can't wait for him to be proficient in rolling over so that he can sleep on his tummy. Abbie was a much better sleeper when she started sleeping on her tummy.)
• He is still not much of an eater. I just don't think he ever will be. It doesn't help that he is easily distracted while Abbie runs around us during feeding times. Hopefully he will better with solid foods, which we will start around 6 months. He eats 6 times a day, usually between 3 and 6 ounces at a time.
• He is a fairly good napper and night-sleeper when he is swaddled. When Abbie is out of the house in the morning, he will sometimes sleep 2 to 2.5 hours! He also takes a 2 to 3 hour nap in the afternoon, depending on how long he slept in the morning. He still wakes up twice a night to eat but we are hoping to phase that out soon. He is not eating much at those feedings anymore so we don't think he really needs them.
• He likes to chew on his hand and fingers. He might be teething, as Abbie got her first tooth around 4 months.
• He is wearing size 2 diapers and 3-6 month or 6 month clothes. He seems to have grown a lot the past few months, in weight and height.
• He is sitting in his Bumbo chair for a few minutes at a time. He also likes to play with and grab on to his toys now.
• He is starting to get a lot more hair now. It is just too light to really be able to see it!
