Tonight the outdoor Y was having a Halloween celebration. There was trick-or-treating along the trails, party games and haunted houses in the tree houses and teepees, and even an outdoor movie.
Stephen had to work during the day but met us at the Y around 5:00. The kids were so excited to be wearing their entire Halloween costumes for the first time! Well Abbie was excited, Carter was not as excited. He was not too interested in wearing his puppy ears but reluctantly agreed to for a little while.
Abbie was so excited to go trick-or-treating right away. She took off running down the trails, stopping at each candy station to get a piece of candy. Carter tried to his best to keep up with her. Once he would get a piece of candy, he would hold on to it forever.
Abbie had fun playing the little games that were set up in the tree houses and teepees. Carter just wandered around holding on to his Daddy’s hand. I think he was a little overwhelmed by all the people and costumes.
Carter did light up when he saw a giant inflatable cat. He waved to it right away and walked up to touch it. He also had fun playing in some balloons.
We stayed for about an hour and then it was time to head home for dinner. Abbie and Carter were both worn out from all of the trick-or-treating. We all had a lot of Halloween fun!
